Overview

A remote, untracked adventure into pristine and magnificent ancient landscapes where very few venture combined with daily practices to support deeper presence, time for reflection and swimming.

The trip starts in Darwin. From here we drive for 5- 6 hours into the heart of Kakadu. When we arrive we step off the track and move through  untracked nature, setting off to explore stunning waterfalls, magnificent gorges and the wonder of sleeping under the stars as people have for thousands of years. The only evidence of the modern world is what we carry in our backpacks. Our drinking water comes from the pristine creeks we follow and swim in.

WALK RATING - MODERATE
Terrain
There will be broken rock in sections, some flat and sandy sections and some thick scrub. The hardest walking will be done without packs.

Vegetation
Varies dramatically from year to year depending on when last burnt. If recently burnt, it’s easier than the description here. Some of the walking will be fairly open and some will be through thick grasses including spinifex, gaiters essential, long trousers recommended.

Distance
The distance varies each day. On the days that we are carrying our hiking packs it will be from 2- 4 hrs walking.  There will also be the opportunity to double camp and not carry hiking packs on at least one day. Check the itinerary in the trip notes for a description of each day.

Pack Weight
You need to carry food for just over a week. The guide will prepare the dinners and share out the weight of this at the pre-trip meeting. You need to bring breakfast, lunch and snacks for the trip.
