What makes an expedition different? Our shorter Kakadu walks can last up to a week. An expedition extends that experience into a continuous two- to four-week journey.

You don't simply spend more days walking. You spend longer immersed in the landscape, traveling from one remote camp to the next and experiencing different parts of Kakadu as one extended journey that includes places that no other tour operator will take you to.

Food drops on the longer expeditions allow the journey to continue without carrying a month's supplies from the start.

Our four departures overlap in some areas, but each explores a different part of Kakadu at a different time of year. Along the way you can discover cascading waterfalls, swim in clear natural pools, visit ancient Aboriginal rock art sites and camp in places where the only people you may see for days are the members of your own walking group. At the end of each walking day, there is time to relax while your guide prepares a delicious three-course dinner.

Are these expeditions for you?

These expeditions are not for everyone. You don't need to be exceptionally fit, but you do need to be comfortable carrying your food and gear and walking in remote country for extended periods.

We provide advice to help you prepare, but you need to organise and bring your own equipment, breakfasts and lunches. If you enjoy being self-reliant, spending extended periods in the wilderness and exploring places that few people ever see, these expeditions could be exactly what you're looking for.
