2008
No trip beginning in 2008 remains available.
We can, however, still take a wait list on New Year in Kakadu: 27 December - 3 January
We want to give you the best possible walk, so exactly where we go will be determined by how much rain we've had by departure time. The link above shows you some of the possibilities.
What's it like? Every trip is different, but here's some more info.
- New Year in Kakadu: 2005-06
This is on a website belonging to one of the participants on the trip.- Here's a photo gallery from the above trip
- New Year in Kakadu: 2006-07 Photo Gallery
These photos are on Tracey Dixon's website. Tracey was one of our clients on the trip. She is an outstanding photographer and the photos are something special.2009
Four trips are already definite departures.
Times change. We may not be able to offer three of these trips again.
- Kakadu Super Circle No. 1: 18 January - 7 February
Note the date. We put the departure off by a week to suit those who booked early. This is our most spectacular as well as our most challenging trip in Kakadu. A food drop in the middle means you don't need to carry more than ten days food. This is the trip for which we have the most trip reports by our clients.
Special Offer: 15% discount for the next three people who book.
- Kakadu Super Circle No. 1, 2004
Excerpts from the author's journal and some panoramic photos. A large 1.2 MB file.- Kakadu Super Circle No. 1 2001
- Here are some outside websites which describe our Kakadu Super Circle in January-February 1992.
Part 1: Koolpin to Jim Jim Creek Part 2: Jim Jim Creek back to Koolpin and out to Yellow Waters We've been running this trip for a long time. It's still as good as ever.- Kimberley Coast Explorer: 15 March - 25 April
This is longest, most challenging trip we offer. It is also one of the most spectacular. It's divided into four sections, any of which can be done on its own.
Going early means it can be a bit wet as shown above, but going early is the only way we can guarantee we'll find enough water in a dry year.
- Here's a trip report written about our 1995 trip.
Cyclone Chloe made this the most challenging Kimberley Coast trip we have ever done.
Here's a photo gallery from that trip.
Special Offer: the 20% advance purchase discount has been extended to 15 December.- Kakadu Circle No. 1: 3-24 May
This is the only dry season trip where you can see Jim Jim and Twin Falls without the tourist crowds. A food drop in the middle means that you only have to carry a maximum of ten days food at any time.
Want a better idea of what it's like? Have a look at these photo galleries.- Pilbara: Karijini National Park: 12-25 April
Book now and lock in the old price. Unlike the trip in June, the water will be a pleasant temperature for swimming.
Although we've never run this trip in April before, we have often done it in June and July. Two of our clients have written reports about their experiences. Those reports should give you some idea of what it will be like. This time, it will be warmer and there will almost certainly be a lot more water.
- John Cannon wrote a report about our 2002 June-July Karijini trip that appeared in the Hobart Mercury
- Paul McCann wrote an article about our 2008 trip which appeared in the November 2008 issue of Into the Blue, the quarterly magazine of the Coast and Mountain Walkers of NSW. (Be patient, it's a 6MB illustrated PDF.)
Two separate trips. We've had so many people try and book that we may be able to offer two simultaneous trips. Please ask us for details. All other 2009 trips are still available. The following trips have bookings but not yet enough to guarantee departure.
- Green Kimberley Light: 16-31 January
This trip is divided into five sections, any of which can be done on its own. It's the easiest wet season Kimberley trip we can offer which still gets you out bush to see some of the best that the Kimberley has to offer at this time of year.
Photo Gallery. Watch for a photo gallery that should be on line by the end of November.- Kakadu Highlights No. 3: 5-18 April, 2009
This trip is divided into two sections either of which can be done on its own. Section two is one of the few trips where we are normally accompanied by an Aboriginal guide.- Kimberley Highlights No. 1: 24 May - 20 June 2009
This is the ultimate taste of the best bushwalking that the Kimberley has to offer: five sections, any of which can be done on its own.
Want to see what it's like? We've got photo galleries for four of the sections and extra info about the fifth.

This trip takes you beyond the tourist sites to see the best that the area has to offer on a series of one to four day walks.- Durack Explorer: 12-25 July, 2009
Great fishing and spectacular scenery. On our 2008 trip we discovered a place that was so nice that we'll spend two nights there, using it as a base camp to explore a bit further still.

In November 2008, Central Australia received its best rain in years. In some areas, it was the wettest November on record. This means that 2009 will have better conditions for walking than 2007 or 2008.
